Thankfulness over the holidays. Often we may get stuck on this simple act because the world has made it so extravagant and expensive. Other times we just may not know how to begin. So, how do you show it? Better yet, why would you not even try?
In a world that seems contrary to our values at times, it is important to hold fast to our beliefs and instill them into our children. The holidays give us an opportunity to demonstrate by example not only for our children but also to other family members.
Over the years, we have incorporated some simple ideas to teach our children that the holidays are not just about us but rather, being thankful for what God has done in our lives. I hope as you read some of our traditions, they will be as meaningful to you as they are to us. Continue reading
The ending of a relationship is hard, no matter who is at fault. There are so many feelings and emotions happening at one time that you begin to lose focus. Life can become a blur and many people get caught in the area of depression. Thankfully, we have a loving father who came to set the captives free and break the yoke off our necks.
I have learned that when something comes to a traumatic or a unexpected end, there is a grieving process and a defining point of either getting stuck in that moment or being set free.
Today I have the privilege of celebrating the wedding of my good friend’s daughter. It is picture perfect. The wind is blowing a crisp, fresh breeze. The background is like a picture right out of a magazine. The music and laughter are echoing throughout the venue, traveling through the trees. Children are running and playing while the adults mingle.

God had something different in mind for me as I went to the altar for prayer. I knew there was a something like a presence hovering at the altar and I had to get it. Something was drawing me in. I didn’t know what it was but I knew I had to get it and when I did, it was more than I could have ever imagined.
GOD gave me a moment with just Him and me.
