The Mind is A Powerful Thing

Science has proven that it takes 21 days for the mind and heart to become one in agreeing. Unfortunately, many of us walk around beaten, broken and lost. Although one may SPEAK that which is positive, their mind doesn’t agree.
We have to believe what we speak and begin to believe what God says about us.

The mind is powerful. It can make the body believe it is sick or heal an aliment. However, it doesn’t work alone. It works in conjunction with what it hears and that of what we speak. Our brain in return, performs that which we believe.

In Genesis, God created the world with his words. Every molecule, atom and micro-being came into existence at his word. Each thing spoken into creating was good. We have to be vigilant on what we hear and receive, carefully filtering out all the negative only to replace it with the opposite.

It says in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5  We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Many people fail to realize the power of words. To often people don’t percieve that they are speaking curses over their lives and creating an atmosphere of despair and pain. Let me give you an example. A young lady is strong, has a high self esteem and confident. She meets a man who charms his way in with his smooth words. After awhile he begins to belittle her and verbally abuse her. Over time she begins to transform onto what he says rather than what God says. Eventually, she succumbs to the identity he created for her and sets in motion the loss of  her self-esteem, self worth and identity. All because of what words she allowed in and received into her mind. Her heart now began to believe what the mind collected.

Gratefully, Jesus came to set the captives free. He can to liberate us from that negative thinking and gives us life. However, we must do our part and allow the transformation to begin. For all the negative words we have accepted into our mind, we must now counteract it with the positive things- positive words.

Yet, in order to begin one must know what God says about you. Here are a few ideas of what God says about you….. Psalms 8:5 He has crowned YOU with glory and honor .. Psalm 16:5 He has given YOU a beautiful inheritance .. Psalm 40:3 He has given YOU a new song of praise... Psalm 45:13 YOU are a princess .

I honestly believe without a shadow of a doubt that words can heal a mind. Jesus set the standard for that theory throughout the scriptures by demonstration. He calmed the waves with his words in Luke 8:24. He commanded the legion of devils to leave the man in Luke 8:29.

Most importantly, Jesus gave us the authority to be set free and to set others free too. (Luke 9:1-2) With this revelation of the power of words, I believe one can counteract mental disease, depression and suicidal thoughts with the word of God. Identities and self perspectives have to change into to what God says about us.

We finally get to the point where our words, mind and heart all finally come into agreement resulting in believing and changing for the good.

I challenge you for 21 days to speak over yourself what God says about you.
